Mascaro Construction Academy
CCBC's Mascaro Construction High School Academy will be offered to the students attending Beaver County Career and Technology Center.
Who can attend the Mascaro Construction High School Academy?
Students who are attending the Beaver County CTC for Carpentry, Electrical Occupations, Greenhouse/Landscaping, HVAC-R, Masonry/Bricklaying or Welding and have a 2.5 GPA can qualify for this opportunity.
This year we will be piloting the program and running a modified version of the courses that are listed on the above Curriculum Sheet. Any student interested will take 4 credits. The CNST 230 course will be taught in person at the CTC over the full year and the COLL 100 course will be run as an online course for the first 10 weeks.
How much does this cost?
The approximate cost for students for this year would be $1,200 (4 credits, Cengage book fee & academy fee included).
There will be opportunities for students to apply for one of (5) $1,000 Mascaro Construction Scholarships being offered and there are also some High School Academy CCBC internal funding monies available for students to apply for to see if they qualify.
**Cost will change for the 2nd year of the program if full version is run and 7 credits are offered.
If you are interested in applying to the Construction Academy, click on the button above for the application. The application requires both a high school counselor and principal signature. You must have signatures from the school in the placement waiver and agreement section of the application. The other supporting document that will need to also come with the application will be a student’s high school transcript. These applications must be completed and emailed to us by Monday, September 12th. The classes at the CTC and online will begin for students on Monday, September 26th.
